A LITTLE HISTORY Marla Novy began beading as a teenager. At that time she learned how to make beaded flowers. Her best friend, Nikki, still has some of her original floral arrangements in her living room. For many years Marla was busy with family and work and did not have the time to bead. However, once her younger son became 12 years old, she started beading again. Marla decided to organize the Retreat for several reasons. Beading is a wonderful way to create unique projects and enjoy great camaraderie with interesting, talented artists. While there are opportunities in other parts of the States and Canada for Bead Classes and Shows, there aren’t many on the East Coast. Marla Novy Marla chose Montreal because she loves this beautiful part of Canada as over the years she and her family ski here as often as possible. She hopes that The Friendship Beading Retreat will become an annual event for new and experienced beaders!
